Gift that last for a long time are definitely gifts that I would prefer to receive as well as give to other people. This is an idea that just came to me a few months ago while I was thinking about what I was going to do for Valentine’s Day. I thought why not give people flowers because they are something that just about everyone likes but they will keep blooming year after year.

Materials Needed:

  • Kitchen sponge
  • Scissors
  • Three-inch clay pot
  • Acrylic paint
  • Potting soil
  • Plastic baggie
  • Packet of sweet pea seeds
  • Ribbon

Instructions:

1. Cut heart shapes from a kitchen sponge with the scissors.
2. Using acrylic paints, sponge-print a design onto the pot. Allow to dry.
3. Place potting soil, seeds and planting instructions into the pot and wrap the whole thing in a ribbon.
