Make Your Own Button Bracelet

Bracelets are great accessories. This is because if you make them with the right colors, they can be worn with any outfit. Making your own bracelets allow you to put some of your own personality into them. I love these button bracelets because I love antique buttons and now I can wear them with any outfit.

Materials Needed:

  • vintage or new buttons in a variety of colors and sizes
  • small beads in colors to coordinate with buttons
  • wide elastic band
  • scissors
  • needle and thread

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of the elastic long enough for a snug fit around your wrist with a 1/2-inch overlap.

2. Select a variety of buttons and decide how to arrange them on the elastic; overlap a few if you want to give the bracelet more dimension. Leave room to sew the overlapping edges of elastic together.

3. Stitch the buttons in place securely.

Tip: Tie the stitches off between the buttons and the elastic instead of on the back of the elastic to keep the knots from rubbing against your wrist. Let some of the buttons hang over the edge of the elastic and top some buttons off with beads. Finally, stitch the ends of the elastic together.

This is really cute! I have a bunch of cool looking buttons and I’ve been looking for a project where I can use them. Thanks for the inspiration!
