Paint a Faux Area Rug

Today I wanted to look at a different type of craft, one that has interested me for a long time. I love home renovations and this is something that I have wanted to try for a very long time in our basement. It is taking paint and painting a faux area rug down right on the cement floor. It is something that looks easy to do, we are trying it this weekend, and is something that you wouldn’t have to vacuum. For someone with kids in the house, this is a great alternative for their playroom.

Update: We did this project and loved it. It was easy to do and allowed us to do any type of pattern we wanted. If you have the patience to tape the pattern down this is something I would have to recommend. The only thing I would add to the instructions that I found is that if you can find a sealer, do it. I have kids that are rough and there was no doubt that I wanted it sealed. I would bet that this is something that you could do on any type of flooring as long as you are brave enough to take it on.
